Executive Team

Greg Spicer, Chief Executive 

Based in Singapore, Greg created the hotel business unit whilst on a 3-year secondment with Xn Checkout UK (2001-2003). Principally responsible for the business, Greg’s main focus is global sales expansion, client relationships and product and business strategy. Starting his hotel technology career as a Systems Manager for then Sydney-based Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation in 1986, Greg has since spent some 20+ years in the hotel and hospitality technology industry, holding various positions, including VP Sales Asia and Managing Director Hotel Division – Xn Checkout (UK) Limited (1998-2006). Formerly, Greg held senior sales and management positions with Micros Fidelio Australia (1987-1998). He gained an MBA in 1993 from Macquarie University and holds an Associate Diploma in Hotel & Catering Management.

 

 

Mark Pearman, President and Chief Financial Officer 

Based in the UK, Mark led the management buy-out to form the Xn group in 2006. Mark qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co (now part of Deloittes) and then went on to spend a number of years in investment banking with Samuel Montagu & co (now part of HSBC Investment Bank). Mark has since served in a number of senior management positions in both public and private companies, including as the Chief Executive of a FTSE 250 company, and has over fifteen years experience of working in the software and services industry.

 

 

Ken Fisher, Chief Technology Officer

Based in Washington DC, Ken heads up the company’s R&D and is responsible for the Xn globalRES electronic reservations business unit. Associated with the business since he joined as a systems architect and strategic consultant in 1999, Ken formerly held senior management positions with US-based Micros Systems Inc (1975-1996), including positions as Senior Vice President, R&D and Senior Vice President, Quick Service division. Ken’s depth of technical experience extends from design and development of point of sale system software to the architecture, design, development, implementation and operations of the company’s hotel reservation transaction and e-commerce systems.

 

 

Alan O’Riordan, Managing Director – UK & Europe 

Since graduating with honours in languages and marketing in 1991, Alan has worked in sales, marketing and general management for nearly 20 years. After seven years with Guestline, a UK-based PMS vendor, Alan joined Xn protel Systems in 2006 as UK Sales Director. In June 2010, he embarked upon a 12-month sabbatical in Australia, where he did voluntary work for a number of organisations, before returning to London to take up his current role in July 2011.

 

 

Craig Chait , Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing

Based in Melbourne, Craig was the founder of iHost Hospitality and has 24 years experience in the hospitality industry in areas of finance, information technology and audit consultancy. Craig worked with Accor Hotels & Resorts as well as Mirvac Hotel Group in finance, corporate management and operations. He then joined Micros Fidelio , where his roles included global sales, marketing, operational consulting, business best practice for hotels, resorts, food & beverage businesses and other and travel organisations.Whilst at Micros gained significant project experience including working with such companies as Carlson, Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Shangri-La, Le Meridian, Mandarin Oriental, Starwood, Peninsula, Taj Hotels and numerous others. Craig joined Xn protel Systems as part of the merger with iHost Hospitality in July 2013. In addition to his sales and marketing role Craig also acts as Managing Director of Xn protel Systems’ Australia/New Zealand business unit.

 

Asia Pacific

Ian Van Kretschmar, Technical Services Director – Asia Pacific 

Based in Brisbane, Australia, Ian heads the company’s Asia-Pacific technical support and operations, including product management of the Protel application. Joining Xn Australia in 2004, Ian has overseen the implementation and technical support of the Australian clientele and manages technical operations for a growing regional client base. Prior to joining Xn protel, Ian held a regional position with Micros-Fidelio’s Central Systems operation and a number of consulting roles with Starwood’s regional Integrated Property Systems (IPS) team.

 

 

David Lewis, Vice President Sales – Asia

Based in Bangkok , David is responsible for sales activity and the management of key client accounts in Asia. David has worked in the Xn protel division since its inception in 2001 undertaking a range of POS, PMS and CRS / e – Distribution projects. Prior to this , David held the positions of senior project manager, based in Dallas, with Tricon Restaurants International, and as IT Manager for the Head Office of Hilton International in the UK. Having gained a BSc (Hons) in Food and Catering Management and an MSc in Software Engineering, David’s career encompasses a range of Hospitality IT projects and installations undertaken in over 40 countries.

 

 

Andrew Richardson, Product Director – Property Management Systems 

Based in Singapore, Andrew Joined Xn protel’s UK division in 2005 as a Hotel Systems Specialist, where he was lead installer for a number of high profile installations. He subsequently moved to the role of UK Operations and Support Manager, also in 2005, before being appointed as Support Director – UK in 2008. Since 2010, Andrew has been Product Development Director – PMS and is responsible for systems integration for all global clients. Andrew holds a BA (Hons) degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) accreditation and is a member of the Institute of Hospitality. Working at all levels in the hospitality industry since the age of 16, his previous roles include Deputy Manager for Whitbread, Pursers Officer for P&O Cruises and General Manager of a hotel.

 

UK & Europe

Mike Hall, Group Technical Infrastructure Director 

Based in Manchester, Mike heads up the data centre and comms division. Prior to joining Xn protel Systems, Mike was COO of a cloud computing and hosted telecoms ISP. He has worked for over sixteen years at Director Level in various industries and specialises in mission critical IT projects. Mike has extensive experience in the deployment of ERP systems for the automotive, manufacturing and logistics sectors as well as high volume e-commerce event ticket sales systems, but has most recently been focussing on the design and implementation of centralised IT infrastructures for hotel chains.

 

 

Andrew Duffy, Director of Application Services

Based close to our East Midlands office, Andrew is focused primarily on our mission critical hotel applications, with a remit covering pre- and post-installation support. Andrew joined Xn protel in 2002 as part of the original protel implementation team, having formerly worked as trainer, installer and consultant with other PMS systems in the USA & Europe. After playing an instrumental role in a number of large protel PMS projects, he then became responsible for Xn’s EPoS installation team. In 2008, he was promoted to the role of Implementations Director before to moving to his current position in 2012. Prior to taking up his first role in the IT sector, Andrew worked in hotel operations in various management roles and has a BSc in Hotel Administration.

 

 

Sergio Teixeira, UK Operations Director

Based in our East Midlands office, Sergio will be focusing on service delivery and customer satisfaction in the UK and Europe. Originally from the hospitality industry, Sergio moved into the IT services industry and has held various positions where he has gained vast experience in service delivery, project management and customer support. Prior to joining Xn protel Systems he worked for a number of hospitality focussed IT vendors including Cyntergy, Oracle(Micros-Fidelio), Dorchester Collection and more recently SiteMinder. Sergio’s experience includes PMS, POS, Channel Management and Revenue Management Systems.

 

Gulf Coast Countries & India

 

Emmanuel Clavé , Vice President Gulf Countries & India / Group Product Director Mobile App & Data Analytics

Based in Dubai , Emmanuel leads a new, strategic product division focussing on the development and delivery of integrated, Mobile Guest applications and Big Data analytics solutions, complementary to the core PMS, CRS, POS and Leisure systems that Xn provides to the global hotel market. Emmanuel is also responsible for the Group’s activities in the Gulf Coast and India region.

Emmanuel joined Xn protel Systems from Rocco Forte Hotels where he held the position of Group Information Technology Director for 12 years. Prior to joining Rocco Forte Hotels Emmanuel worked for various hospitality and hotel organisations, including Hilton Hotels and Thistle Hotels, and has over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. He is a former Board Member of the Hotel Technology Next Generation (“HTNG”) industry association but had to resign his position when he joined Xn. He continues to work actively with HTNG representing Xn protel Systems.
